Calling all aspiring actors and local talent! The award-winning Bashford Twins are holding open auditions for an upcoming feature film, Cotton Kings.

Cotton Kings, an untold true story set in the heart of Blackburn, Lancashire, is now holding open auditions for the upcoming feature film. This is a rare opportunity for aspiring actors and local talent to be part of a major cinematic production alongside established film stars and an award-winning creative team, including Oscar and BAFTA-winning crew members.

Open auditions will take place in front of the film’s producer/directors, The Bashford Twins. Applicants are invited to prepare and perform their own piece to camera, with a maximum length of one minute.

More details will be coming soon about how to audition. No previous acting experience is necessary, they are looking for authenticity, personality, and raw talent.

The film explores the youth culture, ambition, brotherhood, and survival of 1980s Blackburn, bringing a powerful Northern story to the big screen. Whether you’re an experienced performer or completely new to acting, this is your chance to step into the world of Cotton Kings.

About The Bashford Twins

Liam and Kyle Bashford, (The Bashford Twins), are award-winning filmmakers from Blackburn, Lancashire. They began their careers making short horror films and, at just 19 years old, won Best Director for their short inspired by the urban legend Bloody Mary. Since then, they have collaborated with talent from global productions including Stranger Things, alongside crew members from The Last of Us and the Mission: Impossible franchise.

Their work, recognised with more than 20 awards and 60 international nominations, is driven by bold, socially conscious storytelling. After spending eight years developing their craft at Pinewood Studios, they went on to direct Waiting For Time, starring BAFTA winner Ariyon Bakare and co-produce the Indian action-thriller Bloodline, released in cinemas across India in 2025.

The Bashford Twins recently Executive Produced Una Notte with Harris Dickinson’s Devisio Pictures, which has been nominated at BAFTA and BIFA qualifying film festivals. Active members of the Blackburn Film & TV Strategy committee, they continue supporting Northern talent and are set to direct a psychological horror feature this year.

Their company Eleven Eleven Pictures recently Executive Produced Una Notte with Harris Dickinson’s Devisio Pictures, which has been nominated at BAFTA and BIFA qualifying film festivals. They continue to support Northern talent and are set to direct a psychological horror feature this year.
