Join artist Kiran Sidiki for a Muka workshop – a space to unwind, reflect, and step into the traditional practice of Muka, a metallic thread embroidery technique from Sindh, Pakistan.

Whether you’re completely new to embroidery or already have experience with stitching, you’re welcome to come and explore this rare and intricate South Asian technique at your own pace.

This workshop will take place in Kitchen Tables, a space that celebrates our dining spaces as places of making.

About Kiran Sidiki

Kiran Sidiki is a Textile Designer and Jewellery Maker with significant experience working with prestigious names in fashion and retail, in London and Karachi.

Having completed an MA in Textile Design from the Chelsea College of Art & Design, Kiran worked with Alexander McQueen’s embroidery team on a season’s collection. With Victoria Bain Embroidered Textiles she worked in design and production. In Karachi she was part of the founding design team for Pakistani multinational Khaadi, launching their childrenswear and led a team of designers exploring the country’s hand-embroidery and hand-woven fabric.

Kiran Sidiki’s jewellery-making studio practice has featured in London’s most notable artisan fairs, including Selvedge and the Asia House Fair.

Throughout her career in textiles, Kiran’s primary focus and passion has been with hand-embroidery.
