Cotton Town Stories

Visit Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery and discover a series of specials guests and exhibits who will teach you more about textiles and cotton themed making and manufacture in a town famed for its place in the Industrial Revolution leading the way with it’s cotton mills.

Bobbin Lace – A demonstration of the hand making of lace using and special exhibit (Saturday only)

Handling boxes – Get up and close with the museum’s collections

Design Lab Nation –  Nestled amongst the looms, find a display of textiles on loan from the V&A Museum as part of the Design lab Nation programme which aims to inspire the next generation of makers and designers.

Conversations with Northrop Engineers – Meet the Northrop engineer in the Cotton Town Gallery and learn more about the history of the looms and textile industry in Lancashire
