Artists have been working with manufacturers across Pennine Lancashire and will soon bring their work to Blackburn town centre for audiences to enjoy throughout the festival weekend on 6th and 7th May.

Bella May Leonard and Silentnight
Embroidery artist Bella May Leonard has worked with bed manufacturer Silentnight to create a playful walk-in installation – a dreamlike meditation on sleep and modern machinery’s dependence on tender human hands.

Liam Hopkins of Lazerian has used a stunning palette of colour from the archives of the Cardboard Box company to create walk-in cardboard ‘pods’ that will occupy a this vast and glorious heritage space – put on your hard hat for this intimate tour.

James Bloomfield has worked with Darwen Terracotta’s workforce to create a monumental installation and individual cast objects that pay tribute to the role of the craftsman and form a true centrepiece of the festival.

Jamie Holman and Roach Bridge Tissues
Jamie Holman has worked with the industrial processes at Roach Bridge Tissues to resurrect a poem by William Billington in a trio of artworks: an ethereal lightbox installation, delicately printed tissue paper and a stirring choral performance of ‘Blackburn to the Fore!’

Grennan and Sperandio and Panaz
Artists Grennan & Sperandio have been in residence at Panaz. Through their project ‘The Social Fabric’ four employees of the Burnley-based upholstery firm have had their lives, loves and work experiences turned into bespoke textile artworks for their homes.
