Saturday Art Club

Raising attainment, leading to progression, creating aspiration, enhancing life skills.  On Saturday mornings throughout the year, 13-16 year olds around the country head to their local college, university or museum to learn new techniques, handle new materials and develop new skills as part of a nationally-recognised network of Saturday Clubs.

With topics under Art & Design, Science & Engineering, Fashion & Business and Writing and Talking; tutors put together an inspirational year-long programme of activities using the specialist facilities that universities and colleges have. The emphasis is on exploration and discovery, broadening members’ horizons and firing heir imaginations.

In the build up to the festival students will take part in special Festival of Making workshops making a screen printed bag for life and a collaborative wall paper design and print project with Graham and Brown. Saturday club members from Blackburn College will then exhibit and sell their work with workshops and a fashion show at the festival weekend.
