We Take Them and We Make Them

Making Film History – A joint project between The Festival of Making and Blackburn Youth Zone, We Take Them and Make Them”, will connect young people growing up in Blackburn today with the Edwardian heritage of the town through an exciting journey of film-making.

Young budding filmmakers from Blackburn Youth Zone, are taking part in an exciting project of discovering Mitchell and Kenyon’s “factory-gate” films; consulting with experts and the local community and creating their own films, with the support of young Blackburn filmmaker Aaron Dunleavy, which capture their interpretation of “local films for local people” – creating their own heritage of Blackburn today for future generations.
The films will be premiered at the Youth Zone and showcased across the festival weekend.
