Each producer from hip hop to Jazz will have one hour in front of a mobile live audience to create a brand-new piece of music all starting with the same stimulus: a sample pack of machines, factories and folly recorded at factories such as the Cardboard Box Company and Community Clothing. Some sounds have also been taken from historical recordings and interviews from the north west sound archive.
The producers will have the challenge of using these sounds to create brand new pieces of music with added instruments and vocal recordings.
During each hour images of the chosen space of industry and manufacturing will be projected onto the walls, overlayed with images of the producer’s screen and other equipment as they work on the new track
Come along, sit on a sofa, have a brew and watch the creative process of music making across different genres.
