Artist Yuliia Ivanova will guide you to create a beautiful flower crown in this fun and hands-on workshop inspired by Ukrainian traditions, where flower wreaths symbolise beauty, identity, and a connection to nature.

Similar floral traditions exist across many cultures – in this particular workshop you will use colourful artificial flowers and natural textures to design a unique wreath to take home.

Workshop Information

  • Suitable for ages 5+. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • The price options for this workshop are: £0, £3, £5. Please read the pricing guidance below.
  • There are 8 places available each session.
  • The workshops will last approx 1 hour

The workshop is taking place in The Hub on the ground floor of Blackburn Central Library – access is via the main entrance on Town Hall Street. There is ramp access to The Hub space.

Please arrive at the venue 5 minutes before the workshop. Unfortunately your place may be allocated to a participant on the waiting list in the event of late arrival.

Pricing Guidance

We are offering this workshop on a ‘pay what you feel’ basis, with the option to select the price that feels most appropriate to you. Whatever price you choose will give you the same experience.

No proof of status is required – it is self administered on a trust basis. We hope those who can will pay the standard ticket price, and the affordable options will be accessed by those who need them.

The National Festival of Making is delivered through a combination of public funding, partnerships, sponsorship and ticket income. Revenue from ticket sales is reinvested into Festival of Making CIC to support the delivery of future commissions, workshops, talks and cultural programmes, helping us keep much of the festival free and accessible to all.

Yuliia Ivanova is a Ukrainian artist and workshop facilitator based in Lancashire, specialising in floral crafts and community-focused creative experiences. With over three years of experience delivering flower wreath workshops across the region, she works with children, families, and adults to create inclusive and welcoming spaces for creativity.

Her work is inspired by Ukrainian cultural traditions, where flower wreaths symbolise beauty, identity, and a connection to nature. Through her workshops, Yuliia shares these traditions in a way that is accessible, engaging, and meaningful for diverse audiences.
