Make your own cardboard insect puppets

Inspired by the Bowdler Insect Collection at Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery, cardboard artist Chris Gilmour in collaboration with The Cardboard Box Company has created 50 beetle sculptures that will infest the museum over the festival weekend.

Each beetle has been created by a collection of cardboard templates that have been manufactured at the factory ready for Chris to assemble intricately by hand. In decline through habitat loss, pesticides, climate change and more, Chris highlights the beauty and importance of these animals and how they play a part in our delicate ecosystem.

Chris will be delivering a workshop to create your very own cardboard insect hand puppet to take home! What creepy crawly will you decide to make in this free, drop-in creative workshop?
