Poetry Bookbinding with Ian Halawi

In this workshop, learn to use a simple yet beautiful stab binding technique, traditionally used in Chinese and Japanese bookbinding.

About Of Earth and Sky

Of Earth and Sky was an installation by Luke Jerram, in collaboration with poet Hafsah Aneela Bashir of the Poetry Health Service and produced by the team behind the National Festival of Making.

In 2021, Of Earth and Sky saw giant-sized poetry appear in over 30 locations in Blackburn and Darwen from professional and amateur poets based locally, regionally and nationally. You can read about the project here.

The poetry featured in this workshop was submitted by people living in, or with a connection to, Lancashire, as part of a call-out for submissions to the project.
