Quite Unfit for Females by About Time Dance Company is a tribute to the Dick, Kerr Ladies football team – a pioneering women’s football team from Preston, formed from a munitions factory workforce.

The performance tells the story of the team’s defiance against the FA’s ban on women’s football in 1921. The cast of five dancers trained with a football coach, and their movement mirrors the movements of the team’s legendary players, Lily Parr, Jenny Harris and their teammates.

Quite Unfit for Females is a celebration of teamwork, resilience, determination, and fantastic footwork, reflecting the physicality of football and dance. It aims to educate and inspire audiences about the historical and ongoing significance of women’s football and the efforts of the Dick, Kerr Ladies team.
