About Bolton Contemporary CIC
Bolton Contemporary CIC is a vibrant, community-integrated arts organisation based in Greater Manchester, dedicated to making the arts accessible, enjoyable and meaningful for all. We work with local individuals, families, community groups and partner organisations through a wide range of visual arts practices, creating welcoming opportunities for people to explore creativity, develop confidence and connect with others.
Our mission is to enrich lives, strengthen community bonds and support inclusive cultural participation. Through workshops, collaborative projects and creative events, we aim to remove barriers to the arts and encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to take part, regardless of previous experience.
This project will be delivered by Rebecca Harrington and Gemma Hemingway, both socially engaged artists with strong experience of working creatively with communities. Their practices focus on making arts and crafts accessible, playful and fun, using hands-on processes that encourage experimentation, conversation and shared making. Rebecca and Gemma create relaxed, supportive environments where participants feel able to try new techniques, express themselves and take pride in what they produce. Their approach reflects Bolton Contemporary CIC’s wider commitment to creativity as a tool for wellbeing, connection and community celebration.
