Surface Pattern Design with Fawziyah Raja

This workshop is a fun and crafty introduction to learning the basics of creating art for surface pattern design and to get your creative juices flowing and thinking like a designer.

Surface Pattern Design is the act of creating art for the surfaces of mass-manufactured products. As the name suggests, in its most true form, this is primarily artwork that repeats in a pattern. For example, wallpaper, wrapping paper, upholstery, quilting fabric, apparel fabric, and floor coverings.

This is a step by step workshop teaching the process of colour and mark making by learning the fundamental techniques directly from an industry experienced designer. Converting your inspiration into a repeating pattern the traditional way, removing the uses of modern day technology!
