2024 Festival Dates: 6 & 7 July

Walking Down the Street Gamelan

Suspended from a variety of structures and shapes, drums, guitars, chimes and marimbas are paired with computer keyboards, flasks, draining racks and colanders. Time to MAKE MORE MUSIC!

Perfect for children aged 0 – 5 and their families.

Music made on the gamelan is exploratory and improvised as a rule. Musicians follow the children’s lead, reinforcing, mirroring, jamming. Occasional outbursts of song and applause.

More Music is a community music and education charity based in the West End of Morecambe, working throughout Lancashire, the North West and internationally. Our year round programme covers a breadth of music making activity involving people of all ages and all backgrounds. We are one of the longest running and most highly regarded community music and education organisations in the UK. More Music has a history of over 30 years of national and international projects that demonstrate flexibility, belief, imagination, partnership and connection.
