About Sam Selley
Sam Selley is a West Yorkshire based artist and workshop facilitator who works with a variety of mediums, including printmaking, textiles, animation and papier mache, exploring ways to make these processes more accessible for a wider range of audiences by introducing the use of easily accessible materials and equipment that may already be found in the home.
Their work often explores folklore, the obscure, identity and the natural environment, as well as bringing multiple objects and beings together that wouldn’t usually be seen in the same space. They are constantly experimenting with new and unconventional materials to find ways to make art in a more sustainable and planet friendly way.
Their practice is rooted in being socially engaged and aims to involve communities wherever possible whilst increasingly responding to the ever changing state of the world and exploring ways we can find commonality, and use art as resistance.
