Make fantastical cardboard bird hats and puppets with Blackburn Festival of Light!

Drop-in any time at the Bureau and join the carnival artists creating puppets, then, weather permitting, take part in a short informal parade to showcase your creation.

About Blackburn Festival of Light

Blackburn Festival of Light is a Community Arts Organisation focused on parades and light events with the aim of bringing communities together to create new, shared traditions for the town, raising aspirations, building community and making memories. Best known for their annual light event and lantern parade, they also love summer celebrations!

About The Bureau Centre for the Arts

The Bureau Centre for the Arts is an independent grass roots community arts centre. It offers a year round programme of arts and creative engagement programmes, activities, events, exhibitions and performances for people of all ages and backgrounds from Blackburn and the surrounding areas.

The Bureau is a place for people from the different & diverse communities of Blackburn (particularly those who historically face barriers to participation) to experience, share and create art and culture.

Their mission is to create a space for arts and culture in Blackburn which provides accessible opportunities for artists, participants and audiences and supports a vibrant and diverse creative community.
