Important Programme Update

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, all the Super Slow Way activities at Audley Community Park have unfortunately been cancelled and will no longer take place at the  National Festival of Making on Saturday 4th or Sunday 5th July.

This includes:

  • Interactive activities with Lewis Jones of Matter at hand at Audley Community Park
  • Guided walks and canal barge trips
  • Editional Studio model making workshops
  • Super Slow Way activities at the park
  • Food provision at Audley Community Park

We sincerely apologise for the disappointment and any inconvenience caused. Poured Earth exhibition remains open.

The town centre programme presented by Super Slow Way now includes; Flimsy Works will be inviting visitors to help in the construction of a model canal boat on Cathedral Square, alongside Drift, a beautiful wooden arch way installation designed and fabricated by Sam Eadington, Ecaterina Stefanescu and Lee Ivett of OPD studio, with the support of the technical team at the University of Central Lancashire.

The Super Slow Way

The Super Slow Way is an arts programme based in East Lancashire shaped by the local community working alongside artists.

Founded in 2015 as one of Arts Council England’s Creative People & Places projects, it supports people who have little or no experience of the traditionally subsidised arts sector to weave the fabric of a future cultural landscape in Pennine Lancashire along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal Corridor using its rich assets of environment, heritage, and community.
