The Joy as Resistance exhibition is a celebration of everyday joy by two of The Bureau’s groups: Inspired By Art and the Youth Art Group.

When the news cycle is filled with tragedy and injustice, it is easy for individuals to feel overwhelmed or powerless. However, noticing and sharing small joys builds resilience and community, which is the core inspiration behind this showcase.

The exhibition aims to help visitors recognise their own small moments of joy. Attendees are invited to contribute these reflections to a collective positivity tree during the Festival of Making.

This exhibition is open to everyone, offering a shared space to help build a more joyful future together.

Presented by The Bureau Centre for the Arts, supported by the Creative Alliance and funded through the Place Partnership.
