Making Place

Become an innovative place-maker, discover hidden architectural gems and create a vision for your special place

MAKING PLACE is about exploring Blackburn town centre perhaps in ways you have never considered before. See the town centre in a different light as creative tours and films, invite you into places that are usually hidden from view or restricted from public access.

The festival will animate forgotten spaces bringing them alive through audience interaction. Make a personal connection with place, and photograph and tweet your own images, views, reactions, and feelings as you make new discoveries in Blackburn.

Maker-spaces are creative, DIY spaces where people can gather to create, invent, and learn and you can engage in these unique maker environments designed and made by architecture and design students.

Write your own news about Blackburn and create a giant newspaper that tells your local stories about this place. Write a poem, tell a story, share a memory, sketch a picture!
