Let’s Make Art Celebrate Bauhaus!

Let’S Make Art have created a programme of activities for children and their families, inspired by BAUHAUS, as 2019 marks the 100th birthday of the German art school.

Inspired by the amazing optical costumes created for the Triadisches ballet by Oskar Schlemmer, they will guide kids and families to create eye-catching, structural costumes to take home. Using an array of colourful materials each costume will be a unique, wearable construction!

To accompany this, are drop-in activities available for all ages to take part. Inspired by Alma Siedhoff-Buscher Building Game participants can create structures with blocks and upload their sculptures for others to see.

Experiment with watercolours and grid paper to emulate the textile patterns of Gunta Stölzl, Otti Berger and Anni and Josef Albers.

Build a wooden block puppet keyring in the style of Oskar Schlemmer and Josef Hartwig.

There is also the opportunity to play and construct with Miller Goodman’s Blockhaus – a handcrafted set of 40 modular rubberwood blocks inspired by Bauhaus.
