2025 Festival Dates: 5 & 6 July

Participate

Whether you’re a maker, manufacturer, trader, artist, educator or student there are lots of ways to contribute and collaborate with the second National Festival of Making, see below to find out how you can get involved.

Workshop Practitioners

The festival programme thrives on hands-on maker experiences. Artists, makers, craftspeople and designers are invited to propose fun, family friendly workshops for the festival audiences. To propose a workshop please click here to email with an outline of your activity complete with any relevant images of your work and website links.

Market Traders

Curated by Hopeful and Glorious, the best makers and crafters will be curated into a stylish market selling skillfully made goods. The Makers Market offers craftspeople considerately priced pitches with a large audience, encouraging new talent to sell their wares. The market will showcase makers of ceramics, knitting, embroidery, metal-working, screen printing, 3D printing, woodworking and more. Click here for information and the application form.

Food Producers

Alongside selling craft and hand-made items, the Festival of Making will feature a market for traders of pre-made food products. If you’re a trader of cheeses, jams, chutneys, pickles, cakes, or sweets then please get in touch with the team to talk about appearing at this year’s festival.

Teenage Market

Teenage Makers have a market of their own at the Festival of Making – if you’re under 20 and fancy selling your wares to the public then we’re here to support you. Email the team to find out more about pitching your products with the Teenage Market.

Street Food Traders

The Festival of Making will have a number of locations offering food from freshly-styled vendor stands and catering vans. We‘re looking for great tasting food sold from great looking pitches. We’re especially open to those who would like to use demonstrations or teach sessions to showcase their food products and who offer home cooked or skilled dishes. You can apply directly through our online application form.

Exhibitors

The Festival of Making exhibits some of today’s most innovative STEM technology, new products and crafted work to the public and we invite inventors, innovators and developers to use the event as a platform to showcase your project. Work in development stages is also welcome at Festival of Making. Contact the team to discuss exhibiting your work.

Performance

If you think you could light up this year’s festival with theatre, music, acrobatics, poetry or dance then get in touch with the team.

Schools and Education Groups

The National Festival of Making aims to inspire children and young people to become the makers of the future and there are a number of ways that schools and education groups can get involved. If you want to find out how your school can participate then email the team and we will ensure you receive information.
