Audiences will have the opportunity to get hands-on with manufacturer materials and forgotten skills in our all new-festival area.

As part of this year’s Art in Manufacturing Season 2 you can learn the skills that built the factories, traditional techniques and long-cultivated crafts that formed the foundation of Lancashire’s still-booming industries. Our dedicated marquee will feature a series of fun, free and family-friendly workshops that will take you on a journey through time, teach you a new skill and maybe inspire you to become the next industrialist!

Art In Manufacturing not only seeks to develop the ideas of artists in unfamiliar environments and create engaging and accessible new work, but also to investigate Britain’s manufacturing heritage, uncovering the hidden stories, techniques and histories of our workforces and factories. A co-commission by the National Festival of Making and Super Slow Way, Art in Manufacturing is funded by Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England and made possible by money raised by National Lottery players,
