The Crafts Council invites visitors to experience an ever-changing display inspired by its handling collection. The objects featured in the display were selected by the Creatives of Blackburn (CoB) during their recent visit to London to explore the Crafts Council’s collection.
Throughout the weekend, take part in a variety of creative workshops and hands-on activities, designed to encourage making, creating, and responding to the collection. These workshops draw inspiration from the Crafts Council’s collaboration with the Creatives of Blackburn Collective—a group of people aged 18–35 who meet on a monthly basis, facilitated by the National Festival of Making and Black Music & Art Gallery.
This programme is part of the nationwide Craft for the People project, which seeks to consult audiences on the future potential of the Crafts Council’s collection.
The Crafts Council’s mission is to make the UK the best place to make, see, collect, and learn about contemporary craft. By inspiring making, empowering learning, and nurturing craft businesses, the Crafts Council believes that craft skills and knowledge can uplift individuals and change the world for the better.
