Aunty Ji’s Making Corner

In 2018 Dawinder Bansal joined forces with the South Asian community in Blackburn to create an installation called ‘The Making of a South Asian Wedding.’

 

Showcasing the wonderful making skills that go into creating fantastic food, clothing, table design and flowers for weddings across this region through communal making round the kitchen table.The Curry Club ladies return this year to run making sessions including; samosas, the humble chapati, turban tying and henna candle painting.

 

Saturday 15th June
11am – 2pm – Chapati Making
2pm – 5pm – Samosa making
4-6pm – Candle Decorating
4-6pm – Sari tying
Sunday 16th June
11am – 2pm – Samosa Making
2pm – 5pm – Chapati Making
4-6pm – Candle Decorating
4-6pm – Sari tying
