2024 Festival Dates: 6 & 7 July

MANTRA (The Manufacturing Technology Transporter) is a specially customised HGV trailer, designed to give aspiring young engineers a hands-on experience with real cutting-edge technologies.

On-board attractions include a fully operational 3D virtual reality integrated welding simulator, the latest UAV technology and a tracked 3D virtual reality system where participants can dismantle virtual jet engines. A 3D printer, will be printing small demonstration pieces live. There’s an interactive SteamVR Vive motion tracked system that teleports you into and around virtual settings. Seven interactive screens provide customisable content focusing on two key areas; advanced machining with technologies such as tooling optimisation, damping and post machining inspection & advanced assembly including GPS, laser alignment, smart tooling, virtual assembly and robotic technologies.

Not sure what any of these techy terms mean!? This is the perfect opportunity to come along and find out with this friendly interactive activity truck from AMRC. You might find a bright career in engineering ahead of you!
