Art in Manufacturing: Artists Talks

Artists will share their experiences of collaborating with industry, the theory and inspiration of their work and the knowledge they gained in process, materials and techniques.

Each of the artist talks will be held on-site at their respective exhibition spaces and allow audiences to learn more about the work and artist residencies.

Saturday 6th July

Sam Williams – 1pm – The Exchange

Sam Williams in Conversation with Festival Co Founder, Wayne Hemingway MBE.

Nehal Aamir – 2.15pm – Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery

Nehal Aamir in Conversation with Arnoldas Ritelis, Sculptor at Darwen Terracotta and Faience, Elena Jackson, National Festival of Making Director & Programme Curator of Art in Manufacturing, hosted by Jamie Holman, Artist and National Festival of Making Chair.

Sunday 7th July

Margo Selby – 2pm – Blackburn Cathedral, North Transept

Margo Selby and Standfast & Barracks in Conversation with Claire Mander, Curator of theCoLAB and National Festival of Making Board Director and Elena Jackson, National Festival of Making Director & Programme Curator of Art in Manufacturing.

This talk will be followed by a performance from Leyland Band at 2.30pm.

Horace Lindezey – 3pm – Blackburn Cathedral, Annex

Horace Lindezey and Venture Arts in Conversation with Kim Studdart, The Making Rooms and Lauren Zawadzki, National Festival of Making Director.
