Art of Papercutting with Maryam Golubeva

Learn about papercutting, get inspired by intricate patterns, use manicure scissors in a creative way and have fun creating and taking home your own art project.

Don’t worry – drawing skills are not essential, you just need a steady hand and a bit of patience!

You can expect to proudly walk away at the end of the session with your own beautiful hand-crafted piece of art.

Suitable for age 7+.

Maryam Golubeva is a British artist and designer currently working in the field of Islamic art, creating handmade bespoke artworks, patterns, and inspirational customised emblems. She works in a wide range of media, using tools from simple manicure scissors and paper to graphic design software. Maryam created a 3 by 1.5 meters hand-cut installation for exhibition spaces, and has also organised a series of workshops for local community groups. Her art was recently showcased at MOCAfest at the World Islamic Economic Forum in Dubai and Malaysia. In 2015 and 2016, she was shortlisted for Muslim News Alhambra Award for Excellence in Arts in the UK.
